Amnesty recently received a letter from the Mayor of Harare, capital of Zimbabwe. He explained that following pressure from Amnesty supporters and others about threatened forced evictions he was revisiting his plans, which means that thousands of people are no longer facing forced eviction from their market stalls and homes. A great testament to the power of Amnesty’s Urgent Action Network. See www.amnesty.org.uk/ua for more information on our Urgent Action Network.
